New rules, cracking down on sham marriages, have stipulated that men will be stopped from marrying local girls if they have reached 50.
Foreigners who earn less than $2,550 per month will also barred from marrying local women.
The Cambodian Foreign Ministry has said restrictions will not apply to weddings taking place overseas, although a spokesman described marriages between old men and young women as "inappropriate."
Rights groups have often cited incidents of Cambodian women marrying foreign men, only to be sent into prostitution or placed into servitude in the home country of the new husband.
